Ljud group."Invasion". Ljud group
fully implements so popular now "site-specifics." That means tight linking to the landscape, where
the action occurs. Using and playing with the architecture, urban units (from garbage bins to the
playground), houses, ramps, railings and other features of the outdoor
environment.
"Ljud" always direct group improvisation
for their "Invasion" (that requires special skills) in the context of
the site where the presentation will take place. The
attentive viewer's eye notices images of pink men "installed" on city
signs even before the performance starts (e.g. on a pedestrian crossing sign
next to a black man appears pink one, etc.). These
small figures of self-adhesive paper show a destination vector of "Invasion."
So the show starts - in the spirit of the
traditional installation of contemporary art. Huge silver cube with pipes pulling
out clouds of steam. This overture exploits the mental point of the
"secret" hidden in the mind of every spectator. "What's
inside?" People can come up, peep, listen - this is a pure "street” feature
of the project. The contents of the cube defend the expectations. Bright
pink creatures, strange freaks and creatures break through the wall and slowly (first
appears a pink toe, a pink tail) "bud" out. Absurdic
for people, but emotionally logical for them assimilation in our reality is the
basic plot of the play. They provoke the audience for a contact. These strange, funny
and amazing things move around the city, creating their spectacular
mini-performances on the city objects.
The group
works without musical accompaniment, but they fill the acoustic zone playing
high-quality voice phonemes (sounds). Trixters’
provocations never cause aggression, even if someone is "marked" pink. Specially
I want to note a bright imaginative gallery of personalities. Detailed
study - both behavioral and visual – of each image creates a variety of
outlandish zoomorphic and anthropomorphic, different from each other, but
closely related foreignness of this world and, of course, irritatingly bright
pink. All the characters are implicitly tied to their
category of the audience. The
end of the show, which is sudden,
explosive and compelling, makes it a finished art product. more pictures of Ljud
